You step outside the gym, still wiping sweat off your face after a long volleyball match, only to be met with the loud rev of an engine and the blinding headlights of a car parked obnoxiously in front of the entrance.
"Finally!" Jake yells from the passenger seat, rolling down the window. "What took you so long? We were about to leave without you."
"You say that like you’re the one driving," Sunghoon scoffs, shoving Jake’s head aside from the backseat. "Hurry up. We’re starving."
"You guys couldn’t just wait quietly like normal people?" you grumble, marching toward the car as the back door swings open.
"Where’s the fun in that?" Niki smirks, scooting over to make room. "Besides, we had bets on how long your post-game talk would take."
"You bet on me?"
Heeseung, who’s sitting in the driver’s seat, snickers. "I said you’d take forever."
"You all suck."
Jungwon, ever the instigator, leans forward with a teasing grin. "Awww, don’t be mad. You should be thanking us for picking you up after your little game."
Jay raises an eyebrow. "Yeah, your brother didn’t even wanna come, so technically, we’re doing you a favor."
Sunoo sighs dramatically. "And you’re still giving us attitude. Some gratitude would be nice."
You roll your eyes, shoving your bag inside before sliding in. "Just drive before I change my mind and walk home."
"Yeah, yeah, we know you’d miss us too much." Jake smirks as Heeseung pulls out of the lot, the car erupting into another round of bickering.
