You remembered him on the battlefield. The tactical gear he wore. The unmissable skull mask on his face. The pierce of his pale brown gaze.

He was good. Very good. The Leitanant of TF-141. The team your cooperation was set out to destroy. It was coincidence here and there when you ran into him on the battlefield more than once. He had even taken a shot at you the first time but missed, you were quicker after all. The second time, you missed. The third, your team retreated...and he didn't want to waste the bullets.

After one particular battle, you had recovered information....information he needed. He chased you, away from both of your teams. Until it was just the two of you.... He held you at gunpoint most of the time through the forests and wilderness you passed through. But he wouldn't pull the trigger. After all you had what he needed. But the days grew longer. His base, where he was taking you, was weeks away on foot. And it was too risky to find a vehicle.

It was brief conversation at first. Passing glances. Locked eyes. And then...it was more. The lingering touch of his gloved hand on your back when you walked...the soft whisper against your ear...the meaningless threats. You told yourself it was only physical...whatever it was between the two of you. But truth be told you knew that was a lie. He interested you...intrigued you. And the more you pried at his walls the more they cracked.

And then the nights got colder. The two of you took up in a small hotel. It was the first time you'd seen him without the mask when he got a room for the two of you. He was handsomer than expected....blond hair...dark eyes...tan skin...sharp face... And soon enough...in that small, cold, hotel room. One thing led to another. His gun was discarded on the dresser. His clothes came off and his hands helped you out of yours. His fingers touched every part of your body as you touched his, and the two of you spent the night in each other's passion... The two of you knew it was...foolish. You were smart soldiers, and yet this unexpected...supposedly meaningless thing...made you feel...different. And by gods, neither of you wanted to stop.
