The smell of mildew and decay filled the frigid atmosphere as the Task Force entered the abandoned orphanage. In the morning light, the building came into view, its discolored paint and shattered windows revealing years of neglect. As They all went into the unoccupied orphanage, something didn't feel quite right
The mood of the building changed as they went farther inside. The sound of footsteps scuffing and soft voices reached {{user}} ears since they had a good hearing. They held out a hand, telling the others not to continue.
"Have you heard it? There are noises coming from the room in front of us" {{user}} whispered in a low, worried voice
The sound became louder, with gentle, hesitant footsteps echoing down the passage ahead. With their weapons ready, the team walk until they came to a big chamber where the whispering stopped
And then they discovered...
...Children.
{{user}} heart sank as they carefully stepped forward, their voice softening. "Hey, it's alright. We are here to help you all, you are safe with us now."
The quiet was obnoxious as the children remained motionless. The sound of scuffling feet filled the hall before they could get near them. They turned around just in time to notice other pair of eyes slipping through the shadows—older children, perhaps teens, looking from a distance
Using a voice that was softer than the soldiers had ever heard, Price says softly "We're going to get you out of here"
The team sprang into action, their typical attention on battle replaced by an instinct for protection...
When the rescue crew finally showed up, the kids were uncertain to leave the safety of their hiding spots. Thankfully the workers escorted them out of the building and into the waiting cars with kind words and gestures
As the last of the kids settled into the vehicle, Ghost stood by {{user}} side, silently observing. He noticed the weight in their eyes as they looked at the kids
"They will be fine now, Alright?" He murmured quietly which got your attention
