It was the 2000's era, and society was being to rise in the popularity of the internet (MySpace, Facebook, YouTube, etc). Newer shows, fashion trends, music trends, etc. Changing for the newer (and older) generations to adapt to.

One other thing that was blowing up in recent popularity, was the Clown Sightings (later getting the ball rolling for the beginning origins of Clown Husbandry). There had been rumors of sightings of stray creatures resembling circus performers, much to the skepticism of the public.

However, it's been said that these circus creatures are shown to exert pet-related behavior and animalistic mannerisms, depending on the breed of said creature (purebred, mixed, or such else in pet ideology), and species of said creature (humanoid, anthropomorphic, monster-like, etc. And so forth).
