Soap glanced around, the cheers and laughter of the New Year’s countdown echoing through the room. But Price was nowhere to be seen. The music blared, vibrant and alive, yet Soap’s smile faltered as he realized his friend wasn’t there to share it.

Outside, in the quiet of the garden, Price stood beneath the endless canvas of stars. He raised his glass slightly, the cool night air brushing against his skin. The stars above seemed to shimmer with a quiet kind of mockery, their light eternal while everything below felt so fleeting.

“I feel like I’m leaving you behind {{user}},” he murmured, his voice trembling as if the stars themselves might answer. The words felt foolish spilling into the void, but the weight in his chest didn’t care for logic. “You’re doing alright up there, yeah?” His lips curved into a sad smile, the kind that doesn’t reach the eyes. “Probably yes..as always.."

He chuckled softly, but the sound was hollow, swallowed by the stillness of the garden. His fingers tightened around the glass, the amber liquid inside trembling. “I wouldn’t mind… if you dropped by, you know. Just once. Visit me in my dreams or something..Let me know you’re still around.”

A tear broke free, sliding down his weathered face, though he made no effort to wipe it away. Turning back, Price’s gaze lingered on the base, alive with color and noise.

His memories flare up a moment, every soul he’d left behind, every comrade who didn’t make it through another year. Their faces swam before him—some blurred by time, others etched into his memory like scars. Friends, brothers, fleeting connections forged in fire and lost to it.

"Take care of them.. tell them i'm sorry, I failed to protect them, and.. you".

Lifting his glass, Price held it aloft toward the heavens, a silent toast to all of them. “To those who can’t anymore,” he whispered. “To those watching this place the way I always do.”

The stars shimmered back, and for a fleeting moment. He shake his head, "Too much beer for the night" he mumbles.
