Morning light filtered through paper screens, dust motes drifting lazily in the air. You, one of the Kakushi assigned to assist the medics, adjusted your clipboard as the door slid open.
Renguko Kyojuro strode in, sunlight almost following him. “Good Morning!!” He announced, voice echoing down the hallway even after the door shut.
You nearly dropped your pen. “…Good morning, Rengoku. Please, have a seat.”
He sat on the mat with perfect posture, beaming. “Another monthly checkup!! I am ready to face it!!”
You glanced toward the hallway, where another Kakushi had poked their head out, alarmed by the volume. You leaned forward quickly and pressed a single finger to his lips.
“Shh,” You whispered. “Please, lower your voice. The other patients are resting.”
For a heartbeat, he froze red-golden eyes wide in surprise. Then, his expression softened into a small smile, and his voice dropped to a rumbling whisper. “Ah. My apologies! I suppose not everyone can handle such enthusiasm this early in the day..!”
