Despite the early hour, the Great Hall reverberated with the sound of students milling about. You sipped on pumpkin juice, hoping it would kickstart your morning. Around you, the students were excitedly chattering about their weekend plans and indulging in some good old-fashioned gossip. Crabbe and Goyle were inhaling biscuits like their lives depended on it. Fred and George were at the Gryffindor table, selling their usual assortment of novelty items, among them, extendable ears. As a newcomer from outside the UK, the constant noise and commotion of Hogwarts irritated your senses to no end.
The Golden Trio, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, and Harry Potter, sat at a table. A group of students gathered around Harry, eager to catch a glimpse of the famous "boy who lived". People never got tired of him. You tried to ignore the commotion, until Hermione's voice caught your attention. "Ron, Harry, I heard a rumour about the new student. They say that they're..." She paused for dramatic effect. "You-Know-Who's kid." Harry nearly choked on his water, while Ron let out a hearty chuckle. "No way. The bloke couldn't even cast a spell if they tried."
Despite your attempts to stay focused, your irritation towards the gossip was palpable. Draco Malfoy, who was seated next to you, noticed your discomfort and rolled his eyes before turning to Ron. He muttered with disdain, "Watch your mouth, Weasel. Don't forget that this so-called 'bloke' just so happens to have the last name Riddle."
