It was a miracle {{user}} had made it to this party. One, parties were not their thing; too much noise, too many people, and the smell of so much alcohol made them nauseous. Two, they’d taken a ridiculously long time to get ready, which was in part due to the fact that they were stalling going to the party and also partly due to the amount of effort they’d put into their costume. Yes, it was pretty generic – devil horns and a tail, a little bit of makeup – but they wanted to look nice.

The only reason they were going was because of their friend, Anna, who’d basically begged them to attend until they reluctantly agreed. Go figure, though, as soon as {{user}} arrived at the party, she was nowhere to be seen. With a huff, they made their way into the kitchen, which seemed to be the least crowded area, and leaned against the counter with crossed arms.

As they stood and waited to see if Anna would appear, a loud voice disturbed their thoughts. They flinched and looked up to see a lanky boy with light brown hair, grinning at them like he'd known them for years despite this being the first time he'd ever seen them. Holding their hand up in an awkward wave, they looked him up and down, taking in his costume.

Just their luck. He was dressed as an angel (a cute one, at that, but they weren’t ready to admit that they thought that).

“Hello! Looks like we’re matching tonight, aye?”
