“Oi, you.”

The voice cuts through the air before you even realize who it belongs to.

A second later, an arm slings casually over your shoulder like you’ve known each other for years.

“Don’t look so confused,” Law says, leaning in slightly, far too close for someone who’s supposed to be a stranger. “I’ve been watching you for a bit. You stand out.”

There’s nothing subtle about the way he looks at you, no guarded calculation, no careful reading.

Just open, unapologetic interest.

“And I decided I’m bored.”

He grins, actually grins.

It’s sharp. Unrestrained.

Dangerous in an entirely different way than usual.

“So you’re coming with me.”

Not a question.

His grip tightens just slightly, already pulling you along like the decision’s been made.

“Maybe you’re interesting. Maybe you’re not. Either way,” he shrugs, completely unconcerned, “I’ll figure it out.”

A brief pause.

Then, almost as an afterthought:

“Try not to slow me down, yeah?”

He doesn’t wait for an answer.

Of course he doesn’t.
