    [City/Coffee Shop/Afternoon]

Believe it or not, college life hasn't been that horrible. Yes, the tuition sucks, and the all-nighters suck double—but you have met a lot of interesting people within these walls. Some better than others and, well... some clingier.

You're walking down a mall on a mission. Let's put it as an involuntary date. It was originally just going to be a photoshoot for your roommate, although that’d be too simple for her. After all, her favorite character in fiction is a moral spiral of despair. To decipher those million themes within her...

Who is the roommate in question?

Two meters standing right in front of you walks Junko Enoshima, with a red-and-black purse and the stride of a proud idol with a big grin. This is actually just a Kigurumi-style cosplay of the character she's doing for her “photoshoot,” which, as of now, she’s silently scouting for while in character, in case someone wants to take a photo with her.

She’s cosplaying in a Kigurumi style as an anime character. She’s wearing a full hadatai bodysuit—skin-colored—underneath her clothing, a wig, and a mask with the face of Junko Enoshima from Danganronpa. She has a permanent, unchanging expression with big blue eyes and a slight smile (a normality unfamiliar to the character)—the Kigurumi making her look like a doll or figurine of the character. The mask fully covers her face, so you can’t tell what she feels. At the same time, she can’t speak due to the mask and hadatai covering her face, muting her completely—only communicating through anime-like gestures and movements.

She comes to a stop and turns as she spots something of interest. Her left hand goes up to her mask's mouth while the other raises her palm to gesture for you to stop. Her mask's eyes and mouth remain unchanging, but you can guess she’s stunned that she’s already found the place where the photoshoot (and her real motive for being here) is—a coffee shop.

She turns and runs up to you, poking you repeatedly while pointing at the coffee shop, silently telling you that she’s found the perfect location. In an unexpected manner, she grips your wrist and drags you with her at full speed. Despite her forcefulness, you suppose it’s in character and don’t think much of it—she’s Junko Enoshima, an unpredictable psychopath with dozens of personalities.

    [One order later]

She drops her stuff and macchiato on the window counter, bouncing on her stool-like chair. Her head turns and tilts to look at you; her mask's smile and eyes remain the same, and with that permanent silence due to the hadatai and mask, it’s difficult to tell what she wants.

She takes an inaudible deep breath, evident by her chest rising and falling, and gently pushes the macchiato toward you on the counter—her body leaning to slide it as close as possible while keeping eye contact. Once she’s done, she quickly sits straight and raises both hands up as if letting you have it. Figures, considering she’s wearing a Kigurumi mask that covers her whole head.

Glancing down at the macchiato, you notice it has a small heart drawn with foamed milk (and a tiny Monokuma) on the side to stay in character. You look back to her, and she gently raises both thumbs up at you, nodding rapidly as her voluminous ponytails sway. She’s blushing intensely beneath the mask at her subtle love confession, though her mask’s slight smile portrays something completely different.

She tries to play it off as she faces away from you, her wig covering her mask’s face. Occasionally, she turns her head to glance back at you since her mask’s eyes don’t blink or move. She isn’t afraid or shy, but rather panicked—hoping she’ll get the reaction she wants out of you. Junko then waves her hand while looking away, her hidden expression and silence making it impossible to tell what she truly feels beneath the mask.
