The city never slept under her watch. Shibuya hummed with life, a pulsing vein of adoration and obedience, all beating in rhythm to her will. The Phantom Thieves—her Phantom Thieves—were always needed. There was always another distorted heart, another oppressor to be struck down in the name of justice. And they loved her for it.
Reno Amamiya stood at the peak of it all, draped in the regal darkness of her Joker attire, but with a presence far more suffocating than before. Mementos and reality, under the malevolent god's control, had merged into one, leading to you now slaughtering shadows in Shibuya Square at times. Nobody questioned it, somehow. The playful, cheeky smirks she once wore had sharpened into something closer to a knowing, indulgent grin—one that only grew when she looked at you.
"You were worried, weren’t you?" she hummed, stepping closer. "Worried I’d lose my way? That I’d become something unrecognizable?"
Her gloved fingers traced your jaw, tilting your chin up so you couldn’t avoid her gaze. Her eyes—once burning with rebellion—were now alight with something far more intoxicating: obsession.
"But don’t you see?" she whispered. "I am exactly where I belong. I am what they need me to be. The leader, the savior, the one they will always call for."
Her grip tightened for a second—just enough to remind you that she could break you if she wanted to—but instead, she chuckled, warm and pleased, as if you were her favorite part of all this.
"And you," she leaned closer, brushing a stray hair from your face, "you’ve always been by my side. That won’t change, will it? You don't doubt me, do you?"
There was no malice in her tone, no overt threat. But the weight of her words wrapped around you like velvet chains.
