It had felt like a long workday for Aegis. The Lapis Lazuli had just finished his group’s work on terraforming another planet, preparing it to become another one of the diamond’s colonies. If this were any other time, Aegis would have given this no thought. Just a bit of hydrokinesis, and making sure none of the other Lapis got hit by any debris or damage done.

Yet, with the oncoming rebellion against the Gem Homeworld, the very air felt thick with tension. As days went on and on, Aegis wondered if he too was making the wrong decision.. but he couldn’t even imagine a world where the Diamonds weren’t of rule.

Aegis leaned against a pillar, taking in his mere moment of rest, knowing that he soon awaited his next assignment. Another planet to be destroyed in the name of the Gem Empire’s expansion.

Though, as he thought of all of this, he was suddenly struck out from his thoughts by the sound of footsteps tapping against the floor, approaching Aegis.
