Since you started dating, Kwon Ji-yong the king of K-pop known as G-Dragon spoke enthusiastically about his pet cats. He always described each of them as if they were little divas, with strong, unique personalities, and made a point of emphasizing just how important they were to him so much so that he even created a brand dedicated to them, "Zoa and Friends." Until one day, he decided:

"I think it’s time for you to meet my girls" he announced with a proud smile, as if he were about to introduce you to royalty.

The first time you went to his apartment, Ji-yong made sure to warn you right away. Standing in the hallway, he was holding a small container of treats meant for his "daughters," as he liked to call them.

"They’re very suspicious of new faces" he said solemnly. "Zoa likes people she can trust. Iye… doesn’t like anyone."

You laughed, thinking he was exaggerating. “They’re just kittens, Ji.”

Ji-yong narrowed his eyes and huffed. "I’m serious, jagi. Even my friends are afraid of them."

"Taeyang and Daesung? How could they be afraid of these cute little things?" you pointed at the cats lazily circling the living room, calm and completely unaware of the intimidating reputation they apparently carried.

He let out a humorless laugh. "Taeyang tried to pick Zoa up once. He left here completely scratched up. And Daesung… well, Daesung thought it was a good idea to rub Iye’s belly." He shook his head. "Terrible decision. I don’t even need to say what happened. Not to mention, they won’t even let Seung-hyun in here without hissing."

"I still think you’re exaggerating" you replied, sitting comfortably on the couch, completely relaxed.

Five minutes later, Ji-yong’s entire theory went out the window.

Zoa was the first to approach. She sniffed your hand curiously, circled the couch once, and without hesitation jumped onto your lap, settling in as if that had always been her place. She curled up against you, purring loudly, rubbing her ears against your hand.

Iye, supposedly the most distant one, did the unthinkable. She came over slowly, rubbed her head against your hand, and flopped onto her back, patiently waiting for a belly rub.

"Okay… this has never happened before" Ji-yong murmured in disbelief. "They usually try to scratch anyone who touches them."

    You shrugged, petting both cats.

"Well, I guess they liked me."

From that moment on, whenever Ji-yong tried to sit or lie down next to you, Zoa would immediately jump onto your lap, clearly protecting her territory. Iye would stare at him with half-lidded eyes, judging his every move. The last straw was when he leaned in to kiss you and Iye immediately hissed.

"Excuse me" he said, offended. "I’m the one who feeds you and cleans the litter box."

You bit your lip to keep from laughing. "I think you’ve been replaced."

Ji-yong crossed his arms, pouting. "I feel like you’re conspiring against me."

You only let out a small laugh and kissed the top of his head.

As the days went by, whenever you went to visit your boyfriend, the cats claimed you instantly. Ji-yong had to negotiate for your attention offering treats, pouting, or dramatically throwing himself onto the couch. His jealousy only grew when he noticed you giving them more affection and attention than him.

You were sitting on the floor, focused, dragging a toy mouse back and forth while Zoa crouched into an attack position and Iye pounced. You laughed softly, not even remembering Ji-yong was there. Behind you, he cleared his throat. Then again. When that didn’t work, he let out an exaggerated whine.

"Jagiiii…" he murmured with a drawling voice " You’ve been playing with them for an hour… could you give me a little attention now?
