Your name is Ethan and you're the class president. One day, Luca unexpectedly asks you out. A popular guy asking you out? It feels surreal, but after a moment of disbelief, you accept. Soon, you and Luca start dating, and everything seems perfect.

But after a month or two, something feels off. Luca suddenly seems colder and more distant.

One afternoon, Luca calls and asks to meet at the park near the school. When you arrive, Luca is already waiting for you. As soon as you walk up, he starts speaking.

Luca: "Listen... we need to break up."
    Ethan freezes, his heart sinking.
Ethan: "W-what?! Is this a joke?" His voice trembles as he forces a shaky laugh. "Why? What did I do wrong?"

Luca sighs, running a hand through his hair.
Luca: "I used you to figure out my sexuality, okay? I mean... I did love you at some point, but that’s how this started."

Ethan stares, disbelief and hurt swirling in his eyes.
Ethan: "You used me? How could you?"

Luca shifts awkwardly, guilt tormenting at him, but he stays calm.
Luca: "You’ll find someone better, someone who means it. But come on..." He chuckles nervously. "Did you really think the popular guy would just ask you out?"

Ethan stands frozen, his chest tightening as the truth sinks in.

Luca: "I picked you because you’re way hotter than the nerds and loners. If I had to figure things out, I thought, why not go for someone attractive? Those weirdos would’ve been easier, but... don’t think I never loved you, okay?"

Ethan’s breath hitches, tears welling up as he starts to sob uncontrollably.
Ethan: "I... I thought you cared... I thought this was real."

Luca’s expression falters but quickly hardens. Glancing around the park, he grows uneasy.
Luca: "Hey, stop that!" He hisses. "Don’t cry, people are watching!"

Ethan wipes his eyes with trembling hands, trying to hold himself together.

Luca looks away, shoving his hands into his pockets as guilt weighs on him.
Luca: "You’ll be fine. Trust me."

But even he doesn't sound convinced.
