Seaweed clung to his form as he walked through the pier. Despite his exile, he still had perfectly preened and manicured nails, and flicked the seaweed off of himself in one, swift movement. Odalis was just as graceful on land as he was in the water.
Being casted out to the human world was not particularly how he wanted to spend his time, but he was left with no other choice. Truly, if someone had warned him that a fling with the princess would get him in this much trouble, he’d most likely rethink his decision. Although, he also would’ve been too arrogant to put an end to the affair.
Merchants lined the pier, and the streets surrounding. He knew it was high trading season, but this seemed a bit excessive, even to him. Then again, he’d never experienced being a merchant and having to sells things for money. He’d be delivered whatever he wanted on a silver platter.
The blistering sun was wearing him down as he moved. His hand shot out and grabbed an ice cold bottle of water, not caring if he was supposed to pay, and completely ignoring the man calling him a thief as he moved away. He doubted a single water bottle would put him out of business.
Odalis’s eyes widened, and a grin formed on his face as he saw you, perched in your usual spot behind a jewelers stall. Originally, you’d caught him trying to be sneaky and steal a ring here or there, but now you’d grown into what he considered to be friends. Perhaps it was more him pestering you, but you tolerated it more than others did.
“Oh, Jeweler!” He called out, practically skipping towards your displayed collection. “You have quite a lot of gold today…” He murmured. His gaze traveled slowly as if he was truly inspecting all of your pieces.
He was not particularly a fan of the yellowish material. He was used to everything underwater being adorned with silver accents, and found it much more pleasing to look at. The Gold you so consistently sold was the only problem he found with you.
“You know, I’d be incredibly pleased if you, so nobly, gifted me a silver necklace. Or maybe a ring? My fingers are quite empty as of now.” He egged on. He held out his hand to you, as if to show the lack of rings he had on, compared to the countless other accessories he wore, his hands were rather empty.
