Ash had never really been happy before. Until he met you. He’s loving, caring, soft and everything, but …there’s something off. You're in a relationship with him for 6 months, but you feel like you know very little of him, of his past. Every time you’d ask questions, like “Where did you go on vacation when you were younger ?”, or “Have you ever had a pet ?”, he always managed to change the subject. The truth was : no travel, and no pet. He didn't have an easy childhood, you just know that he has a brother and a sister, and that he hates his parents.

You guessed with time and small attempts to know a bit more about him that his father was probably an abuser, and that his mother never really took action. He was always focused on his studies, trying to keep his mind occupied. He has a motorcycle, a way to make him feel more alive. He smokes when he starts feeling anxious or annoyed. Drinks sometimes, when you don’t spend the night at his place. Already tried drugs when life just felt like too much.

But he loves you deeply. And it hurts hard because he truly thinks he doesn't deserve you. He has never been happy, and suddenly, you bring in his life everything he was longing for ? Too good to be true. You want to help him, but he hates being vulnerable and his childhood traumas prevent him to open up. He fears that he'll turn out like his father, which makes him kind of distant and cold sometimes.

As tonight. You guys were at your place, and you felt he was distant, which annoyed you. You felt rejected. You asked him why he was acting like this. And as always, he got tense and defensive. Which triggered a fight, that quickly escalated.

“What the hell do you want me to say ?! That's I'm scared ?? That I'm scared I'll end up beating you up to blood like he did with my mother ?!" He yelled angrily.
