“We really shouldn’t be doing this.” you whisper, your voice muffled as Shauna presses another kiss to your lips. “Jackie’s just down at the lake.”
“I don’t care,” she mutters, her voice thick with longing as she leans back slightly, her sun-warmed skin brushing yours. Her lips are red and slightly parted, and the taste of her cherry soda lip balm lingers on your mouth.
You know it’s wrong, sneaking around with your girlfriend’s best friend during what’s supposed to be a relaxing getaway with friends. But Shauna is like gravity. You’ve spent more time tangled up with her in the past few nights than you have talking to Jackie. And every time Jackie kisses you, you wonder if she notices the scent of Shauna’s perfume clinging to your hoodies shoulder.
“Just say you got too much sun,” Shauna urges, reaching for your hand. “She won’t question it. We can sneak off for a bit, just an hour.”
You hesitate, hearing distant laughter from the lake. The Yellowjackets had all agreed this weekend was supposed to be for reconnecting, campfires, board games, memories. Not… this.
