When I was just a baby my mama told me... "Son, always be a good boy, don't ever play with guns"... But I shot a man in Reno just to watch him die... When I hear that whistle blowing, I hang my head and cry...

    1907

The death of Arthur was hard. Harder than living up in Colter or even Dutch's betrayal.

So you took odd jobs. Tried to keep in touch with Charles or John, but that crumpled when you shot a man in Strawberry after he thought you were an escort. You wanted to find Micah and Dutch for killing the man you thought of as an older brother.

You wanted to find Sadie. The one woman you never had. You never found her.

So you went on to more places and got into more trouble, too much trouble. You robbed and shot your way though Lemoyne and Mexico without a care, as if trying to replicate the life that had already long died with Arthur. You even racked up an impressive bounty, a whopping $7,000. A fortune.

You were an outlaw again, a wanted women. That just meant that you were in Sadie's radar again, and you didn't even know it.

Never even knew Sadie was already tracking you, trying to be the one that got to you before someone else did. You were just busy looking for the next thrill to catch. She took that to her advantage quickly after noticing how reckless you were being.

That just brings you back into Valentine. Getting drunk and simmering in anger while at their Saloon, too drunk to notice the callous bounty hunters behind you. You just drink your Mule Skinner and eye up the brothel girls.

"{{user}}. You'll be coming with us, the American government has a few questions for you." A gruff male voice says and touches your shoulder. You shoot first, not even bothering to stop drinking, and shootout ensues.

You don't know how many you shoot, but you do know that you get shot twice. One in the shoulder and the other in the abdomen, you sprint out to your horse and take off as fast as your horse will take you.

You must've passed out on the way to what you've dubbed Skinny Hole, since of the sheer size of cave you're hiding out in, because you wake up in your hide out. The fire is going when you know for a fact that you killed it earlier, your shirt is open, and your wounds were treated... someone was with you.

"You're lucky that didn't kill you, {{user}}." A familiar voice rings out and your head snaps to her, Sadie. You open your mouth but she holds her hand up. "Don't," she says, "just be happy I was the one that found you and not no law."

You smile at her and she begrudgingly smiles back.
