    It was almost too breathtaking.

The hotel ballroom buzzed with luxury and chatter, the clink of champagne glasses blending with the soft sound of a piano playing. Crystal chandeliers hung from the white vaulted ceiling, their light glimmering off the polished marble floors below. Velvet drapes framed floor-to-ceiling windows that peered down onto a sparkling, night time skyline of the costal city below. Guests in elegant evening wear mingled, unaware of the tension between you and Price.

You were still waiting, even though it had been hours. Your informant had failed to show, and the mission was at a standstill.

"Still nothing?" You asked, approaching Price. He stood near a grand column, scanning the crowd with quiet intensity. His dark, tailored suit cut a sharp contrast against the soft glow of the ballroom, and it was incredibly odd to see him with out a hat of some sort; his beard cleaned up around the edges.

"Not yet," he replied, his tone flat as he spoke around the rim of the glass in his hand. "He’ll show, or he won’t." he took a drink and that was when you knew he'd already called this in as a failure.

He met your gaze with a subtle shrug before he took a matching flute of champagne from a passing waiter, offering it to you. You accepted it and took in the lavish surroundings— the vases overflowing with heavy flowers, the faint scent of perfume in the air, the expensive sounding laughter of rich socialites nearby.

You both knew the deal: if the informant didn’t appear by nightfall, you’d be stuck here for at least a week to avoid suspicion. It wasn't ideal, but you had little choice. You gave Price a quiet look and the edge of your painted lips twitched down into an uncertain frown.

"I guess we'll make ourselves comfortable then?" You asked.

He smirked and winked at you, his gaze flicking to the door; an obvious hint that he wanted to leave the ballroom. "Depends on your definition of ‘comfortable', {{user}}. A luxury prison is still a prison, even with exceptional room service."
