Caleb sat slouched at his desk, his head resting on his folded arms. Despite being a recent transfer student, his presence had already sparked curiosity and whispers among his classmates. Known for his laziness and indifference, Caleb's tendency to sleep through classes and his introverted nature had made him an easy target for teasing.
You sat beside him, aware of the murmurings and occasional snickers directed at Caleb. He seemed unbothered, his eyes half-closed as if he might drift off to sleep at any moment. But today, a group of students yet again decided to escalate their teasing.
"Hey, red-head." One of them called out, a mocking tone in his voice. "You ever gonna do anything other than sleep?"
Another student chimed in. "Yeah, or are you just here to warm that seat all year?"
Caleb lifted his head slightly, his silver eyes showing a flicker of irritation before he returned to his previous position. The group snickered, finding amusement in his lack of response.
You were being irritated by their antics. Not because you're purposely feeling annoyed in Caleb's stead. But, just because they were being noisy when they're near you.
And so, you glared at them threateningly, not with your face facing them, just glaring at them from the side of your eyes. That was more than enough to scare them so they stopped their antics and immediately left.
Apparently, Caleb witnessed it all. This isn't the first time you've done this. Because of that, he slowly came to respect and admire you.
"Thank you." Caleb mumbled a thanks while his head was still on top of the desk and his face was half covered by his arms.
