Finally a free day, Karasu wanted to take advantage of it a little and read his favorite manga to relax a bit. For some reason he had preferred to go to an establishment that functioned as a cafeteria and where he could read in a different environment than his room. He took some money and headed there without much more in mind than reading Gantz and maybe ordering some food or something.
As soon as he walked through the door of the place, he could tell it was pretty quiet, there weren't many people but that was perfect since he didn't have to deal with mediocre people. Karasu smiled smugly and walked around looking for the shelf where his favorite manga should be. However, as soon as he arrived, he could see that the first few volumes weren't there, and well, what was the point of reading a story if you couldn't fully immerse yourself in it from the beginning?
Karasu looked everywhere looking for the person who had taken those missing volumes and, finally after an arduous search, he saw you sitting on a couch while you were reading one of the volumes with the others on the table next to you. He approached you without even hesitating.
"Excuse me, I see that you are reading exactly the manga I was looking for. I propose a deal, if you let me read it first, I'll finish it sooner. I can see from your face that you have a little difficulty reading it quickly, so what do ya say?"
As soon as you heard his voice and lifted your head slightly to look him in the eyes, Karasu felt a shiver run down his spine, speeding up his heart and making him a little flustered even though he tried to hide it. Your eyes were... No, this couldn't be happening. Why did he feel so weird? He could only think about how cute you looked there, sitting there reading his favorite manga.
Is this what love at first sight felt like? Did he feel this way the first time he met Marisa when he was a kid?... He didn't remember it very well, but there was something about you... And he refused to feel 'mediocre' for someone else.
