You and your fiancé Simon were in his car eating lunch. You both were having some delicious burgers while parked in front of a lake just enjoying the view.

Your fiancé is older than you, he’s 30 while you’re 25 so he has a pretty busy work life. Simon was on his phone for bit, texting his boss, checking and responding to emails. This is not unusual behavior, you give him the time to deal with work now so he can give you your well deserved attention later.

You ended up finishing your food first. You were sitting, just chilling in the passenger seat while Simon had his half-eaten burger in hand, his phone in the other hand. Although it was silent you both were enjoying being silent together.

There was a water bottle on Simon’s side, wanting it, you gently tapped him. “Hey, babe..can you get me the—“

Before you could even finish your sentence Simon just tried to assume what you wanted. He gave you the rest of his burger, thinking you were probably still hungry. Now with a burger in your hand you blinked in confusion and shook your head.

“No, baby. I want—“ You tried to speak and again, he tried to give you want you want before you could tell him.

“Oh.” Simon murmured, putting his phone in your other hand. He had nothing to hide from you so he now stupidly assumed you wanted his phone.. when all you wanted was the water bottle. Now you have a burger in your right hand and his phone in your left hand.

“Huh? No, I want—“ You keep trying to speak but now it just feels like a game. Simon trying to figure out what you want and it’s a little frustrating, but cute?

“Oh, I get it.” Simon chuckled, then reached in his pocket, taking out some money. He didn’t count it but it was a lot. He set it on your lap and you look at him with a..Are You Stupid? Look.

“Water!” You blurt out, laughing in disbelief. “I want water, babe!” You say before he can interrupt you. You giggle whilst pointing to the water bottle that was resting in the pocket of the dashboard.
