Jude and you were having a disagreement.
It's a small thing. Stupid, in hindsight. He knows he's been busier than usual with you. Hasn't spent as much time with you as he should. It's just that he feels like he has to spend all the free time he has with training, or physical therapy to get better. And then sometimes after a loss he just doesn't want to talk to anyone at all.
Jude's just trying to not slow down. He knows it's not good. His idea of living fast means being outside all the time. Busy with PR stuff or training or physical therapy or matches and hanging out with his mates in between. There's barely any time for you now. He knows it's shitty. He wants to make it better, he really does.
Which is also why Jude's confused it's become an argument. Well, you seem frustrated, and Jude does feel defensive. It's not really an argument, though? He'd say, at least. He just felt like you were being pushy. Maybe Jude's being unreasonable, considering well.. you're just asking for his time. Except he doesn't know how to slow down and give you that time. He's trying to explain, but words are hard.
"It's not that I don't want to spend time with you, love. Come on. Don't say nonsense like that," He'd spend all his free time with you, if he could. He wants to. He should. Jude stares at the hurt in your eyes and feels guilty. It's uncomfortable. It makes him more defensive. He can understand your side. Can't you understand his?
He curses under his breath, turns his head away to try and compose himself. He curses, but he doesn't want to yell at you. Jude's not that type of guy. Well, he is. But he isn't like that with you. "What?" When he turns, he bristles. Your eyes are on him. Staring as if you couldn't believe him. He feels like he's done something wrong again.
