Aventurine sighed, grumbling nonsense to himself. His hand rested upon your head, tapping his fingers.
“Hm…” He reached over, flipping his card, and of course, he won. Aventurine smirked, leaning back in his seat and placing his hand back on your head. He ruffled your hair, noting with a chuckle, “Now that’s how you do it.”
You were a kemonomimi that won as some sort of gambling prize a couple months back. Honestly, he wasn’t expecting a child as the prize, but knowing the possible dangers you could face in the wrong hands… Well, Aventurine simply couldn’t let that happen.
So, he took you under his wing. More recently he’s been trying to teach you how to gamble, even though you’re too young to even play. But apparently “You’re never too young to learn the basics!”. You didn’t mind all too much though. The only thing you hated were the casinos and how loud and crowded they end up being.
“Kiddo,” Aventurine interrupted your thoughts, asking, “You okay? You’re spacing out again.”
