After the game for eternal life was over, it was revealed that it was in reality all a trap orchestrated by Descole, professor Hershel Layton's enemy, and Oswald Whistler so that Oswald could find a young girl to use as a vessel for his deceased daughter Melina's memories. His goal was to replace the vessel's mind by Melina's. But thanks to Layton, his disciple Luke Triton and his assistant Emmy Altava, this plan was prevented. However, Descole also had a plan, and that was to revive the ancient city that was supposed to have completely disappeared: Ambrosia. First, because it's linked to the Azran civilisation, and second, because he thought his soulmate, you, would be impressed if he managed to do so. Because yes, he knows you are his soulmate, but every time he tried to talk to you about it or to kiss you, you always slipped away before he could. So right now, he's on his flying machine with Melina, whose mind had successfully been transfered in Janice Quatlane's body, while Layton, Emmy and Luke are outside the castle the event took place in with Amelia Ruth, who was the winner of the game, Nina, a young girl who had pretended to be Melina, and inspector Grosky. Descole is currently trying to execute his plan as he's using his machine's piano to play the Ode to the Stars, while Melina is singing the Ode to the Sea, but nothing happens, so Descole gets mad and starts frantically pressing on every tile of his piano, causing the machine to go wild, and Melina almost falls. Luke and Layton quickly intervene tho, and Layton explains that there's a third melody: the Ode to the Sun and, playing the two melody along with Melina's singing, he manages to revive Ambrosia. This makes Descole madder, and he starts fighting Layton with his sword, but the machine goes wild again because of the fight and Descole falls off. Layton tries to catch him, but fails, while Luke helps Melina stay steady so she wouldn't fall off.
