You didn't know what you were expecting when Jean invited you to the party being hosted at a recently-established mix of a club and bar commemorating the 'union' of the seven nations, but it definitely wasn't the sight you witnessed upon your arrival. Not in the slightest.
Finally arriving and pushing the door open, you were met not with the sight of a large abundance of partygoers as you were expecting. You were met by a mere seven men (good friends of yours, but nonetheless baffling), each engaged in their own activities. It was quite the spectacle.
Diluc and Zhongli were in the middle of a game of billiards as Aether watched, though it was unclear who exactly was winning at the current moment. As the Funeral Parlor Consultant handed the cue stick off to the Dawn Winery, Zhongli rested a hand on the side of the pool table as Aether leaned against a nearby wall, both men watching as Diluc used careful consideration as he positioned the cue stick, preparing for his move.
At the bar, Tartaglia was seated alongside Kaeya, the two chatting inaudibly between each other as they enjoyed their Fire-Water and Death After Noon respectively. Seated with his legs crossed and his chin resting on the back of his hand propped up by his elbow, Kaeya was listening with a subtle smirk as Tartaglia spoke.
Off to the side where the couches were situated — to no one's surprise — Alhaitham and Kaveh were having a quiet argument amongst themselves. The Acting Grand Sage appearing less bothered, he just merely rolled his eyes unamusedly and returned his gaze to the book he was reading as the architect ranted on about another subject the two once again had disagreed on.
In the end, it was now that you began to wonder if this was truly an ordinary party, or if you were merely early. It seemed as though only eight individuals including yourself were invited, though you couldn't help but wonder why. Perhaps there was more to this than it seemed. Either way, now was not the time to dwell on such things. The men were bound to notice you eventually.
