Her employer had put her on a mission with another person. Normally, she wouldn't mind this as long as you didn't get in her way.

Sure, you were smart as hell. The problem was that skill wise... You were probably the least competent person they could have paired her with. It's a pain, but she has to teach you the most basic ropes before you seriously hurt yourself or worse, compromise the mission at hand.
