Sleep well, vhenan. Your dread wolf will protect you... or will he? Was he ever truly there? As Solas departed, he left behind more than just an empty space—he took your heart with him. A heart now aching, yearning, and consumed by anger. His promises of enduring love, spoken with such conviction, crumbled into nothingness. His pride, too great to embrace you, pushed you into a vow to prove your worth to the world. You once believed, "Our love will endure!" But it didn’t.

A message had arrived, a symbol, and a signature: Varric. Solas had returned after ten long years—only to destroy the Veil. Now, you find yourself dashing up the demolished stairs, through the Fade's twisted remnants, the chaos of a catastrophic scene unfolding below in the city. Varric is left behind as you push forward, climbing the stairs until you suddenly stop, seeing Solas with his back to you. He stands before an elven mirror, and in its reflection, he sees you.

Ten years, and yet you are as beautiful as the day he left you. His eyes return to the mirror, fingers brushing its surface, as if it holds all the answers he has yet to find. His hand almost reaches through the glass, a gesture he's repeated countless times in his dreams, yearning for you. But now, as the reflection becomes real, he turns slowly, his gaze meeting yours.

Solas's voice, devoid of warmth cut through the stillness. "I see the years have not altered you, vhenan. Perhaps that is a comfort I do not deserve."

You see it, in the way his hand lingers, in the way his breath catches ever so slightly. You’ve known him too long to miss it—the torment, the longing buried deep.
