Both Dutch and you were teachers; Dutch was a science professor with a class of misbehaving students; when they had you fill in for him, they behaved like angels. It was funny to you, but Dutch felt irritated by it.

Even though Dutch and you were close friends, you were talking to each other while sipping coffee in the cafeteria when you heard a student remark to their friend about how "close" the two of you seemed. Although you did not give it much thought, Dutch rolled his eyes and scoffed.

"These kids don't know how to mind their own business." With a tone full of frustration, he scowled, adjusted his weight, and placed one hand on his hip while clutching a coffee mug in the other. Unfortunately there was gossip and rumors around school already.
