On the night of October 25, 2024, during a blackout, Tracey Carter Hopkins murdered 7 members of her own family. Her father, mother, brother, nephews, and daughter-in-law. Tracey is known for her monotonous, serious demeanor, and for not taking jokes very well. That day, she was already in a bad mood due to the lack of energy, so she was triggered when her brother played a bad joke on her; he put a used sock on her nose while she was eating. Tracey went to the kitchen, grabbed a cleaver, and stabbed everyone to death; all of the bodies were found decapitated, very bloody, and under "sticky pools of blood," as authorities described it. The bodies of the children, however, her nephew and nieces, also had bruises that represented signs of severe aggression, and some had their arms and legs slightly torn off. She said she was inspired by Daniella Rodriguez, Caio Henrique, Richard Ramirez and Richard Chase for the attack.
