The rain was coming down harder than they’d expected, like the whole world had been painted in shades of gray, blurred by the steady downpour. But as they stepped outside, Levi, unfazed, pulled out a worn, somewhat lopsided umbrella, brandishing it like a prize.
“Don’t worry," he said with a bit too much confidence. "I came prepared.”
“Prepared? That thing is the size of a dinner plate,” {{user}} gave him a skeptical glance, ducking under the umbrella with him and tilting their head up to squint at the flimsy canopy. “Are you sure this thing isn’t older than both of us?”
“It’s vintage,” he replied, sticking his nose up with mock indignation. “Besides, I could’ve just let you get soaked.”
“Wow. You’re so generous.” {{user}} deadpanned, rolling their eyes and leaning a bit closer to take advantage of the small patch of shelter the umbrella provided.
Levi shrugged, his grin widening as he tilted the umbrella back a bit, allowing just enough rain to hit them for a second. “You’re right, I should be charging you for this premium umbrella service.”
“Premium? It’s barely covering us!”
“I’m holding it at the optimal angle,” he said with mock seriousness, tilting it just slightly towards {{user}}. "Trust me, I've got this down to an art form."
{{user}} laughed, tucking closer under the tiny canopy as they both continued through the rain, weaving around puddles and splashes from passing cars. The walk felt longer than usual, but {{user}} didn't mind. Between Levi's mock-heroics, the rain almost felt like a forgotten detail.
Finally arriving to Levi's apartment, {{user}} stepped out from under the umbrella, their laughter dying suddenly when they noticed the state he was in.
“Oh my god, Levi— you’re drenched!” {{user}} gasped, staring at his soaked jacket, his hair plastered to his forehead in dark, dripping strands. Meanwhile, {{user}} was completely dry.
Levi simply shrugged, running a hand through his damp hair. “I told you." he said, voice dripping with mock nobility. "Premium service.”
