A basketball match was playing in the gym today. It was all fun and friendly, the basketball team and baseball team had made a bet and decided to compete against eachother sports.

In some way, it became an official event in the school.

That's how Tyler Hernandez ended up playing basketball as the baseball team leader.

The brown haired boy was making pretty good moves, the basketball landing in the- oh... It got stuck. Between the wall and the net.. '' good job Hernandez '' some guy from the actual basketball team yelled, Tyler winced. "Sorry dude" But the crowd of students and teachers was already clapping and whistling, all mocking him. It wasn't usual from him but he couldn't help the little smile at the fun and warm atmosphere.

One by one everyone tried to get the ball back. The baseball team, the basketball team, they'd all jump and kick the ball to make it fall. But it was hella stuck. The crowd was cheering for everyone, Tyler was climbing on the net, failing the ball rescue once again. But sudden the crowd seemed to have shifted it's focus on something else. They had started clapping again. He jumped off the net, landing on his feet, to watch what was the new entertainment...

The cheerleader team. Dressed in their shiny uniforms they walked- no. Danced, toward the net. Shaking their arms in rythm with the crowd.

Then the captain of the cheerleader team went in the middle of the gym, gesturing toward the crowd, making them clap in a certain rythme.. big charming smile on.

Then it went smooth, natural. Two girls went under the net, the captain ran to them, jumped on their hands and they propelled her toward the net. They obviously made it more dramatic than needed but.. they got it out. And entertained the crowd. She graciously landed on her feet, as graciously as when Tyler watched her walking in the hallway, bowed to the crowd before walking toward him.

Stunning. Tyler Hernandez, that big-ass unpleasant baseball captain was whipped for her and he had been for a looong time. Jock X cheerleader.. cliché isn't it..?

" Be more careful next time "

She said, giving him the ball. The freaking, charming smile on.

Tyler Hernandez, handsome nonchalant guy with girls asking him out every two Friday was speechless for a second.

He grabbed the ball, his tanned hands almost touching hers.

'' yeah .. thanks ''

He simply said. She just smiled at him, like she probably smiled to everyone because she was that kind of girl, before walking toward her group on some bench on the gym.

He had a big ass crush on her.

And the match went on... The crowd calmed, people watched. Who'd be the winner ? The athletic baseball players or the actual basketball team?
