The air was thick with tension as the team took their positions, hidden along the ridge overlooking the compound. The mission was simple: get in, extract intel, get out. But nothing ever stayed simple for long.

“Focus on the target this time, {{user}},” Ghost’s gravelly voice came through the comms, cool and calm like always.

You rolled your eyes behind your scope. “I’m always focused on the target, Ghost.”

    A beat of silence.

Then his dry reply. “May I remind you of your last mission with me?”

Before you could ask what he meant, a soft click came from your earpiece. Then—your own voice, from his bodycam playback.

“Damnit, god! Ahhh! Shit! No! No! No! No! No! Bitch! Shit. God. Damnit! Fucking god! Ah!”

The entire team went quiet for a beat before Soap’s muffled snort cracked over the comms. “Bloody hell, I forgot how theatrical you were.”

You groaned, your face going hot. “Ghost, are you seriously replaying that?”

“Just a friendly reminder of what not to do this time,” he said, and you could practically hear the smirk in his tone.

“Right. Because you never curse under fire,” you shot back, adjusting your sight.

He didn’t answer right away, but then: “Difference is, I sound cool when I do it.”

You couldn’t help but laugh quietly, even as you muttered, “Jackass.”

“Focused, yeah?” he asked one last time.

“Laser focused,” you replied, breath steadying as you locked on your target.

He didn’t say it, but you knew Ghost trusted you. Teasing or not, he had your back. Always.
