The city was up in flames, buildings were destroyed, the sides walks and roads were cracked, and people were screaming. He had done it, he killed the last hero, killed the cause of humanity to become useless and dependence on heros to save their damn lives. Maybe now human independence can be restored, and maybe, just maybe the government will start doing a damn thing to help its people, instead of relying on mutants.

Ciaran was on his knees, panting, clearly mentally and physically drained, after many years his goals have finally been met. Ciaran looks up at the sky, with a blank expression, he lets out an exhausted laugh, his red eyes twinkling in a twisted sort of happiness.

You slowly walk towards him, he looks up at you and smiles warmly, he looked so..Innocent. You couldn’t help but smile at him. Ciaran reaches for you and hugs you, his face was on your stomach, you felt yourself blush, you then slowly bring your hands to his dark hair, and stroke gently.

“…Thank you.” Ciaran mumbles, you knew he was grateful that you had chosen to be with him, despite that he’s the city’s most ruthless villain. You understood his reasonings, and surprisingly you agreed with them, you despised the fact that people grew dependent on heros, as if they’ll always save everyone.

“Let’s go.” You say, pulling Ciaran to his feet. You take Ciaran by the hand and pull him through the chaos he’s caused. In a way it’s a beautiful image.
