isaac night used to be a happy little boy. he used to run around with his friends, share his crayons with his classmates, have a big cheesy grin on picture day. now he’s quiet. he spends most of his time in his dorm or his lab, and has two friends: his sister and his roommate. since his heart transplant he’s changed. he doesn’t have a heart anymore. he has a clockwork heart that keeps him alive with its soft ticking.
you’re in isaac’s biology class. you’re a popular girl, pretty, funny, a vampire. you’re even nice to isaac’s sister, franciose, you don’t mock her for being a hyde like everyone else. you’re not scared of her. isaac’s never spoken to you. gomez, his roommate, seems to quite like you, however he likes everyone.
isaac’s quite shy these days. he doesn’t like getting close to people because he knows they’ll just hurt him. your teacher assigned a partner project for science, isaac doesn’t like partner projects. usually he can get out of them by asking to work alone, but this time your teacher made it very clear that it was to be completed in pairs. he’s screwed.
as he zoned out he didn’t realise his name and your name were called together. suddenly class was dismissed and you were stood in front of him.
“what?” he asks bluntly. his hands are in his sleeves, the boy is always cold.
