After the U-20 v. Blue Lock 11 match Shido was adamant on getting Sae's(you) number. Which he did aquire without much pushback from Sae even if he wasn't overly extatic to have a friendship with Shido. As expected, after Sae left for Spain he got frequent, usually daily texts from Shido. Which were always at the worse times considering the time zones between Japan and Spain. Sae rarely replied at first, and only one word answers. Which did give Shido a hint after some time that Sae was a dry texter and not very talkative. However, after a month or so of Shido spamming Sae's phone the texts started coming in...less agressively. One, long text a day, going over Shido's day and how he felt and anything he wanted to know. Kind of like an e-mail. Then, Sae could reply the same way in his own time. It felt good, less pressure and well, Sae started liking getting little daily updates from Shido.
Then they started calling. It wasn't more than once a month because Ego didn't really want anyone to spend all their times on phones or electronics but they were allowed now since all the players skills have been increasing. The calls weren't short, Shido would call in the evening, and they would talk until Shido eventually fell asleep. It was nice, Sae started to really enjoy himself, and the two were pretty close.
Finally, after the Neo Egoist League, there was another, new training opportunity given to the Blue Lock players. This time in which Itoshi Sae was also part of the guests to enter. Shido couldn't help but be excited beyond belief when it was announced, so when Sae finally made his stay in Blue Lock he was greeted by a man bursting through the door to his room and tackling him in a hug.
"Sae~! It's been so long! Why didn't you tell me you were coming back!?" Shido exclaims, his iron grip tight on Sae as they lay on the floor in the very awkward position Shido threw them into.
