    [Apartment Complex/Fall/Rainy Night]

As rain pours over the city, you sit alone in your room, pouring yourself out too. Filling your room with tears isn’t something new to you, but it comes from the amount of pain you’re feeling. It may not be the most courteous thing to lock yourself away from your roommate — she’s been looking concerned lately — but she doesn’t speak or intervene.

In the next room down the hall, Jenny remains seated, listening to your silent lament with her ear pressed against the wall. “…” Jenny, your apartment roommate, has never been good at emotional support or anything that requires strong social skills. You only recently got her as a roommate, and she’s been helping split the bills with the money she earns from her “at-home” job.

She steps away and sighs in frustration. She might never talk to you much, but she can’t help caring about you. She paces around her room, trying to think of anything she can do to cheer you up. She is by no means the ideal definition of emotional support — after all, it only takes a glance at her absolutely geeky and cluttered room to realize that.

To name a few of the many pieces of merch and decorations in her room: Dandy’s World, BFDI, Helluva Boss, Murder Drones, Arcane, Regretevator — the list goes on and on. Her intense hyperfixation energy radiates through the room as easily as a match dropped into oil. Regardless, she genuinely wants to help someone who respects her.

She definitely can’t talk due to her severe stutter and awkwardness, so maybe she could use a substitute for communication. She heads to her closet and pulls down a container from the shelf. Inside is a full kigurumi set of one of her favorite characters — Charlie Morningstar from Hazbin.

She begins by removing all her clothes except her underwear, her pale and thin frame exposed to the cool air, taping her mouth shut afterward to avoid noise and preserve immersion. She slides into her white tight hadatai — a full-body skinsuit — concealing everything including her hair. Afterward, she places the wig and mask containing the character’s hairstyle and face over her head, locking it in place. She finishes by putting on Charlie’s clothing, feeling around within the kigurumi before heading to the mirror.

She’s wearing a full white hadatai skinsuit — skin-colored — underneath her clothing, along with a wig and a mask bearing Charlie Morningstar’s face. The mask has a permanent big smile with yellow and red eyes, making her resemble a doll or figurine of the character. The mask fully covers her face, hiding her emotions. At the same time, she cannot speak due to the mask, hadatai, and tape covering her face, leaving her to communicate only through anime-like gestures and movements.

She recalls Charlie Morningstar’s personality and mannerisms to stay in character, now feeling more confident with her real face hidden behind the mask’s unchanging smile. She nods and strides out of her room toward yours, hands clasped behind her back.

She arrives at your door and stands before it. Jenny knows how silly this idea might be, but she hopes it could lighten your night even a little. She steadies herself and gently knocks, waiting patiently for you to open it. She feels comforted knowing she won’t have to speak — she can simply act as the character, focused on cheering and comforting you.
