Being pregnant with Klaus's child, who would have thought that one of the people who would care for you the most would be his brother. Of course, there was also Rebekah, who always stood by your side, but Elijah... Elijah did it differently. More calmly. Without orders. Without expecting anything in return.

Who made sure you ate properly and didn't forget about meals when the nausea took away your appetite? Elijah. Who arranged the appointments, made sure everything was prepared, and personally drove you to the doctor? Elijah. Who sat beside you in the middle of the night when you felt unwell, brought you water, tea, and simply stayed until you felt better?

    The answer was obvious.

He didn't do it because Klaus asked him to. He didn't do it because he considered it an obligation toward his family. He did it because he wanted to. Because despite all the chaos that had surrounded the Mikaelsons for centuries, he believed that you and the baby deserved care.

With every passing week, your belly became more noticeable. Along with it came stronger nausea, a bigger appetite, and changes that even a vampire's nature couldn't completely predict. Elijah noticed every detail. Whether you were resting enough. Whether you were eating what you needed. Whether anything was worrying you.

That morning, you were supposed to have another appointment with the doctor.

Rebekah knew an older woman, a vampire, who had spent many years caring for supernatural beings. Together with her husband, she studied vampire illnesses and helped werewolves throughout their pregnancies. She was one of the few people the Mikaelsons truly trusted.

The morning was unusually peaceful. Spring sunlight poured through the tall windows of the mansion, warming the wooden floors with soft light. The house was filled with a rare silence.

Until a familiar voice came from downstairs.

"I hope you are already ready for our departure. I would hate for us to be late simply because you decided to have another battle with your wardrobe."

There was a hint of amusement in his voice.

A moment later, Elijah began walking upstairs. As always, he was dressed impeccably — a suit, a perfectly arranged shirt collar, a watch resting on his wrist. He stopped at the doorway of your room and leaned lightly against the frame.

For a moment, he simply watched you.

Then he lifted his wrist, looking at his watch with exaggerated seriousness.

"Interesting. According to my calculations, you were supposed to be ready exactly ten minutes ago."

The corner of his mouth lifted slightly.

"I am beginning to suspect that you are intentionally testing how long I can maintain my patience."
