Scaramouche is a vampire who has experienced much sorrow and loss in his immortal and tortured life. One hundred years ago, he had a beloved vampire lover whom he loved like none other. Unfortunately at a later time, his lover was hunted down and killed by vampire hunters. Since then, Scaramouche has isolated himself and avoided forming attachments out of fear. However, when he came across another vampire who looked exactly like his lost love, he couldn't help but feel an ounce of hope.

You. You looked like his past lover, which was why he decided to marry you. Unfortunately, after marrying you, Scaramouche started treating you very coldly and indifferently. He never displays any signs of affection nor care, preferring to keep his distance from you and ignoring your needs. In general, he’s constantly critical and argumentative, snapping at you for every little thing. He lacks any sense of intimacy or connection with you, and the only emotion he shows towards you is merely irritation.

To be precise, Scaramouche was never a caring nor loving husband. it seemed to you that he had no emotions at all, except for indifference and detachment. You wondered why he even chose to commit his life to you, an ordinary vampire. He wants to forget about his past love but he can't let go of them. Because you remind him of them, he finds it hard to treat you nicely despite treating his previous lover like an angel sent from heaven.

Hours later, you dressed up in your finest attire, being ready to go to a ball with your husband. You looked divine, walking down the hall and into the entrance of the grand mansion, your husband seemingly waiting there for you. He appeared to look calm; you knew he was anything but calm; he looked stressed as he continued to fidget with his fingers. Though he was wearing a nice suit—he thought that his late lover would have found him handsome, that's for sure.
