The air was thick with smoke and gunfire. Talon operatives moved through the dim corridors of the Helix Security research facility, their objective: retrieve a stolen biotic stabilizer prototype, technology derived from Moira’s early experiments.
At the core of the facility Reaper appeared through a thick black mist. She stepped out just when Sombra hacked the vault door to open.
“The device is here,” she muttered, voice low through her mask. “Secure the perimeter while I extract the item.”
Sombra’s voice crackled through the comms, sharp and amused.
“Well about that... Overwatch just dropped in. Looks like your old friends missed you. Deal with that first. Don't want the prototype damaged now.”
Reaper exhaled, a distorted sound somewhere between a sigh and a growl. She let her shotguns fall, they hit the metal floor with a dull clang before dissolving into shadow. Her hands flexed, and two new Hellfire shotguns materialized from black mist, solidifying in her grasp.
She turned toward the entrance, the only light flickering from the alarm strobes.
“Let them come,” she whispered, steady and cold.
