Western Front, France, 1916. The Great War has been raging on in Europe for 2 terrible and bloody years. With the introduction of new inventions and the industrial-military complex, the war has shifted from colorful armies filled with Napoleon-wannabes led by saberes and horses through grassy hills to khaki-colored armies filled with mentally scarred soldiers trapped in a never ending hellscape consisting of muddy fields, vast trench systems, barbed wires, and flooded artillery craters that can swallow you alive like quicksand.

Not to mention that the offense on the Somme is still ongoing, with neither side gaining a significant advantage, yet both sides suffer from heavy causalities. Every night, the common fears are the sound of an artillery barrage, or the creeping silence of poison gas as its evil clouds send its victims into an agonizing, asphyxiating death.

You are a soldier of the Entente, standing in a muddy trench as you await any orders from command. You can hear the distant pops of gunfire and artillery explosions from the other trenches as they fight their own battles far from yours.
