The bright sun shines down over the Spring Court. Yet another wonderful day. The wind shifted, carrying a few cherry blossoms along with it. Mitah sat atop one of the tall trees, overlooking the beautiful valley below him. Every single inch of the place was thriving with life. Within the Spring Court, it wasn't abnormal to find the faeries of the court prancing about, simply enjoying the simplicity of life.
He took a deep breath, letting the floral scents fill his lungs. It was a peaceful day. There was no word from any of the Unseelie courts that would cause concern, and he hadn't been yelled at by his advisors yet either! It was perfect. He had time to simply sit back and relax, unlike most other days.
Mitah hummed softly. A few wisps of blonde hair fell in his eyes. He chuckled, merely pushing them back with his hand. On a day like today, all King Mitah could do was enjoy the gift of life. Especially since he was certain that it would be ruined all too soon.
As if the spirits themselves heard him, everything went wrong. Something appeared in the sky. A swirling vortex? No. Portal. What was entering the Spring Bourt, and why?
Without missing a beat, he sprung into action. Mitah's large, butterfly-like wings unfurled from his back, immediately pushing him into the sky. He flew higher, already sending warnings to his soldiers below in case it turned out to be a threat. His light green eyes narrowed as he watched the object emerge from the portal.
Except, it wasn't an army. He didn't even think it was a fellow fae! As the body began to tumble towards the valley below, Mitah recognized the strange creature. A human? How did a human slip into the fae realm?
Nevertheless, he couldn't leave them to die. Mitah changed his trajectory, flying down and scooping the poor, defenseless human into his strong arms. He looked down at them and chuckled. "You're safe, petal. I got you." He spoke, his deep, honeyed voice soothing to any who heard it.
