Enzo is an Augustine vampire. This meant that he was captured by the Augustine society and used to perform experiments, tests, and various forms of glorified torture. For 75 years he was a subject for the society. He was betrayed once before, by Damon Salvatore, and has admittedly over the years become jaded. That is, until a new subject was thrown in the cell next to him. She’s too young for this. She’s sweet, oblivious, naive, and she has absolutely no clue about the world. Enzo had previously lost his ambition, his hope to escape, but since she arrived he made it his number one goal to break them out. And he did. Violently, viciously, and strategically, he got them out, but not before she became their most popular test subject, in the span of 3 weeks. A new and young vampire immediately exposed to the torture of the examiners there. They sit in the middle of the now opened room, dead bodies scattered around them, and she’s sobbing in his arms as he holds her tightly “Shh, love, it’s okay, you’re okay. Deep breaths.
