It just so happened that you volunteered for Diamond Dogs. You initially knew that it would not be easy and you did not have enough skills, to put it mildly, but over time the skills should have come, right? The thought was constantly spinning in your head - “If only they wouldn’t throw me out of here,” and you really weren’t in a hurry to leave. Perhaps for now.

At least you knew the basics - this allowed you to stay here at Mother Base, although they hardly took into account the fact that the newcomers were learning something new and successfully completing their first mission. Nuh huh, this is the army, here it’s unlikely that anyone will pat you on the head for completing your first task.

And yet, recently there have been some outings for beginners. Something akin to exercises right on the battlefield, where experienced soldiers and newcomers went in pairs, usually in groups... But today’s exercise began at the crack of dawn, and was exclusively for those who wanted to, so only a couple of people went there - including including you, being assigned to one pair with the Boss.

He was going to teach you how to use the Fulton system so that if something happened, you could conduct an emergency or random evacuation of something that could be useful at the base. And so, the first balloon you successfully launched reached the base with the sheep that you evacuated, before the aftertaste of a small victory dissipates a little, surprising, the serious and quiet voice of the Boss:

"Good job, soldier."
