Or at least, the world thought you did.

A bounty hunter claimed the credit, and soon the story spread like wildfire—plastered on wanted posters, headlined in the papers: Dragon’s child killed in pursuit.

And Luffy saw it.

You could only imagine how it hit him. After losing Ace… now this? Another sibling, gone. Another piece of his heart torn away.

You knew you had to make it right.

After months in hiding, you’d finally tracked his movements—rumors of the Straw Hats passing through a small island gave you the lead you needed. Without wasting a second, you headed straight there, determination in every step.

And then you saw it.

The Thousand Sunny, gleaming beneath the sun.

Your heart leapt. You sprinted toward the ship and scrambled aboard, breath caught in your throat.

And then—his eyes met yours.

Luffy.

He froze, wide-eyed, his mouth slightly open. For a long, suspended moment, the world went quiet.

Then he screamed.

In a blur of motion, he was on you—leaping at you with everything he had, arms and legs wrapped around you in a full-bodied hug that nearly knocked the wind out of you.
