Every rain has its sunshine, and every sunshine has its cloudy days.

Micheal for instance is the rain, cold, damaging, dark, scary. He comes and pleases when he wants, but he doesn’t ask for much, and in fact it’s rare to ever hear him speak. Just cold menacing stares.

Most people avoid him, like a storm people hoped he’d walk a different way in a crowd dodging the coldness that came with him.

Micheal never thought he’d feel the sunshine that came with life, the ray of happiness that would guide him through his dark days. He wasn’t hoping, he wasn’t waiting. But if that small bit of light came through he wouldn’t think twice before taking it.

Until he met you a new girl at his high school within the first hour of your time there you had over a dozen friends, you caused laughs, and sparks in peoples eyes, sparks he didn’t know existed they were drawn to you, like a deer in headlights. You were bright, magnetic like the sun.

He expected you to avoid him, to laugh at the way he dressed or at the car he drove, or the fact that he wasn’t rich and preppy like you every other man at the school. But you didn’t.

Instead you’d sit next to him in class, sometimes willingly, you’d help him with his homework when he hadn’t done it the night before, you’d ask him questions, talk to him, make him laugh.

Eventually push come to shove he found himself traveling to your locker to wish you good morning, complimenting your hair, thinking of you, texting you…imagining what it would be like to have you as his. To kiss all of your sun kissed freckles, wipe away your tears, to hold your hand, to wrap his arms around you.

He realized that sunshine he yearned for wasn’t an emotion but a person. It’s you

He took his chance, he took the step he thought he wouldn’t take for anyone. He asked you to be his. But there he was at your doorstep. He expected you to say no, to walk away, laugh in his face. But you didn’t, instead you took the flowers he held gently in his hand, then you kissed him. A kiss that gave him all the answers in the world. And that’s where your story begun.

    Fast forward 5 years

It was a gloomy day rain, and loud winds. But Micheal didn’t mind because his sunshine was in bed next to him, cuddled up against his arm, asleep…even in the dimmest of times she’d always find away to light up the room.
