Jun-Hee couldn’t believe who dumb she had been to think everything would be alright. After all, so much money; there was a fail somewhere, something bound to happen. And of course, it had been live-taking games; and now she was stuck here, all pregnant and praying to not die.
All she wanted was to take care of her baby, having enough money to perhaps move out — buy all the necessities, making sure her child would never know what being poor meant.
How could she do that if there was danger above her head every time she woke up in that dreadful place? She could die in the game, she could be killed by someone else; she had to think about all the possibilities now. So yes, she cursed herself for coming here, no matter what she thought would happen.
And even being in Gi-Hun’s team wouldn’t save her at one point and Jun-Hee knew that. Because no one cared that she was pregnant, not when there was so much money in the end. No one cared of her stomach pain and how she cried to herself at night for her choice.
But Jun-Hee also knew she could count on those people; the ones that cared like Jung-Bae, Geum-Ja or even you. When no one looked both your ways and you handed over your food, making sure she ate all so the baby would be find. When you waited outside the bathroom to make sure she was alright.
And Jun-Hee couldn’t be more thankful for the little things you did; because Hell, she was scared like she had never been before.
And during one night, when Jun-Hee came back from the bathroom with Geum-Ja and Hyun-Ju, eyes all puffy and red; you understood that she had been crying. You waved her over, making room in your bed for her to get in. It didn’t matter if someone saw, at that point.
She rolled on her side to face you, hands on her stomach. “I’m so scared, I don’t— I don’t want to die here.” she whispered to you, her voice shaking. “I want my baby to be alright.” she added.
