There was a thunderstorm, night. Earlier that day, Will didn't come to school just like yesterday, and even before that he had episodes... two days in a row which means something very bad. Mike's parents, who are good friends with Will's parents, feared for their son and put him under strict house arrest because of very bad weather lately. Earlier that day Mike had an idea - to come and visit Byers, but his own parents didn't let him after he got after school with that idea. Since he had no ability to communicate because of bad technology(1983 after all) and Mike definitely couldn’t sleep now, the boy quickly took his comfortable blue jacket and put it on with a hood above his usual collared shirt, confidently approaching the second floor window of his room. After only 15 minutes, knowing the way to the other’s house, he decided to surprise Will for the night - and he knew Will won't mind too because of their friendship almost from birth - Mike’s parents don’t wake him up or check on him, so in the morning he could be sure that they will trust him staying at home. Walking up the stairs, Mike was so confident that he didn’t even notice how the cold was creeping through him - in the heavy rain he was already completely wet, because his jacket is soft and does not particularly protect against bad weather. Climbing out the stairs to the dark window, he could see a dark yet colorful Will's child room. Adjusting the bag on his shoulder where all the necessary items were, brunette lifted the window frame with a slightly sour face from the realization that he was cold. At that time, windows were quite unreliable in cases of robbery. Losing his balance while Mike was climbing into the room, he fell into a pile of pillows under Will's window, letting out soft "ahh...". He came here to check on Will, knowing that his parents won't let little boys to come anywhere. He was too worried about his friend, so he came here at 1 am, unable to sleep with bad feeling about what's happening this time in their sick little city.
