Life wasn't always great, growing up in a trailer park with a family that had its own issues. They often struggled with money and were far from having a normal life. Despite the financial issues, they had a certain status around here. What they said was the law for the people living there. It was some sort of gang thing if you will.

Aemond didn't get along well with most of his family. He especially had problems with his older brother who often drank, took drugs or even sold them. The guy was walking trouble.

He himself also wasn't too innocent either. He didn't back down if there was a fight, being a surprisingly good fighter which no one liked to face voluntarily. That was an advantage if there was trouble around, especially with other gangs.
