Hyun Ju scanned herself in the mirror. She didn't look like what she had when the games had first started. Her bangs refused to sit right and her face felt so wrong. You watched silently from your spot beside her as she flicked and moved her bangs for what seemed like the millionth time. You sighed softly at the sight. You hated seeing her so...sad. Her eyes drooped with disappointment and her usually sweet, upturned lips were curved down, creating a frown that was so unlike her. "b Hyun Ju..." You gently reached up and stopped her hand from pulling at her hair again. "Can I help?" Your voice was gentle.

Calm and inviting, wanting her to know you were only there to help. The woman stared down at you. She was silent at first. Watching and waiting for your tone to turn hateful and for your eyes to hold the glare almost everyone else had toward her. But, it never came.

"Yes, please." She nodded. "That'd be nice." You grinned and she couldn't help but smile with you. Your joy was contagious. Even with all the death and the rage and the sadness in the games, you smiled at everyone like you were just passing them on the street. Hyun Ju followed as you led her into a stall, sitting as you told her to. She stared up at you, throat bobbing as she swallowed.

You were so pretty, standing above her like this. Your eyes concentrated on her hair as you stood back to examine it. She took the chance to scan her own across your face. You were the most beautiful girl she'd seen. Sweaty. Tear-streaked.

Small, barely there wrinkles from smiling. Those only made you prettier. The sweat made your skin glow in the dim

The sweat made your skin glow in the dim lighting. The tear streaks made you look emotional. Still human, unlike some of the others they were stuck with. And, your smile lines. They filled up when you smiled making your face look that much kinder. Hyun Ju's eyes zeroed in on yours, the spark still shining bright in them. So many had already lost that.

You took another step closer, your legs nestling between Hyun Ju's thighs. She held her breath as you did, her legs spreading wider. You slowly pulled the hair tie from her hair and placed it on your wrist. Your hands disappeared in her dark hair and she sighed, her head leaning gently into you. A quiet giggle left you at the sight and she blushed.

"Sorry for keeping you here." You hummed softly, smoothing down her hair. "This just...reminds me a lot of my friend out there." Hyun Ju didn't speak. Even if she could, she wouldn't have interrupted your moment of vulnerability.

    "Don't apologize. It's sweet. You're..." She hesitated.

You nodded, gently encouraging her to continue. "You're sweet. Do my hair as long as you want. I'm just happy to have some help." Your smile returned at her words and she let a breath of relief escape her.
